Shaolin Xiu Indonesia – 印尼少林修文化中心
On February 18, 2023, with approval of the Shaolin Kung Fu Duan Pin System Committee, the Shaolin Kung Fu Duan Pin examination was held in the Jakarta Sacred Heart Orphanage of the Indonesian Shaolin Xiu Cultural Center. On the morning of February 18th the trainees of the Shaolin Kung Fu Duan Pin system lined up neatly, waiting with excitement for the examination by Shaolin masters. At nine o’clock in the morning, Shi Yanxiu, the head and founder of Shaolin Xiu Cultural Center, and Master Shi Yanhao, head of Indonesia Shaolin Xiu culture centre announced the official start of the Duan Pin examination.
A total of 57 students participated in this examination. The participants are mainly martial arts enthusiasts from Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia, and 20 Shaolin disciples from the Indonesian Sacred Heart Orphanage also participated in this Duanpin assessment. For this examination, Shi Yan Peng (释延朋), Shi Yan Meng (释延盟), and Shi Yan Wu (释延倵) were appointed by the Shaolin Kung Fu Duan Pin System Committee of Songshan Shaolin Temple in China as the examiners.
Before the examination started, the students recited the “Precepts of Shaolin ” together to learn Shaolin etiquette. At the examination site, a video of Abbot Shi Yong Xin was played. The abbot said in the video that “Shaolin temple is the home of all Shaolin disciples. After years of unremitting efforts, Shaolin Temple has contributed to peace and friendship for the world. Health, happiness, and shared values are the representatives of excellent traditional Chinese culture. Through Shaolin Kungfu, we connect the five continents of the world, people and cultures from different countries and regions. Kungfu brings us together and makes us more tolerant and open. Shaolin Duanpin examination is not only about technique, but also the embodiment of cultural heritage and value.” After the Great Monk Abbot Shi Yong Xin gave the teaching, all the students and examiners showed their respect to the Great Monk as disciples.
The chairman of the Indonesian Shaolin Foundation would like to express his heartfelt greetings to the contributors of this event, and hope that the Shaolin Kungfu Duanpin Examination will be held in Indonesia at least twice a year in the future, so as to meet the needs of Shaolin Kungfu lovers. He also expressed the hope that laymen and entrepreneurs will give more support and jointly inherit the excellent traditional Chinese culture of Shaolin Kung Fu.
After rigorous assessment, a total of 56 students finally passed the evaluation team of the Shaolin Kung Fu Duanpin system and were awarded the Shaolin Kungfu Duanpin certification. After the evaluation activities, a grand awarding ceremony was held. At the awarding ceremony, Master Shi Yanxiu imparted Kung Fu learning experience to the students, and reminded the students to take a more systematic view of the Zen wisdom contained in Shaolin Kung Fu and a healthy lifestyle.
